Through Saskatchewan PNP last draw, this province invited 150 eligible Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency of Canada on August 15th.
In April 2019 Saskatchewan has introduced a list of Occupation In-Demand for the province to solve the labor shortage problem. During the last draw, Saskatchewan has sent 150 invitation to candidates who applied through this program.
Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program works a little different from other provinces.
To apply under this program, candidates must submit an Expression Of Interest (EOI) to this province.
Candidates with EOI must receive at least 78 points Out of 100 points available for them to receive an invitation from (SINP). The hundred available points in this program are based on factors such as education, skilled work experience, language proficiency and close family ties in Saskatchewan.
On August 15th, 2019 Saskatchewan invited 45 candidates through Express Entry and 105 candidates eligible for Occupation In-Demand stream.
Candidates have been picked by a draw from the pool of applicants. The candidates score in the Saskatchewan Expression Of Interest was 78 points and above.
Saskatchewan Occupations in demand stream
The candidates who apply through this stream are not part of Express entry and they received their provincial nomination approval through occupation in demand subcategory.
1,789 candidates are invited through this program to apply for PR of Canada through this stream so far.
The Saskatchewan PNP Last Draw invited 150 invitation on 15th of August 2019 which shows a dramatic decrease in number from the last draw on July 24th which invited 381 invitation to eligible candidates.
Candidates don’t need a job offer to apply through Occupation In-Demand subcategory but it is very critical to have at least 1 year of experience in any of the listed 19 occupations in demand by Saskatchewan province.
 
Express Entry
Express Entry is a point-based immigration system which gives candidates points on their qualifications such as age, education, previous work experience, language proficiency, and close family in Canada. The maximum point obtained under this system is 1200 points from IRCC.
The maximum points, candidates can get for their human capital qualifications is 600 points. They can get another 600 points if they received a provincial nomination approval from a province. These 600 points will guarantee, they will receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA) in the next express entry draw.
